I was 16 years old when Detroit burned around me. The black and white photos here were taken only days after the July 1967 rebellion. Forty years later, I returned to shoot color photos from many of the same locations. Sadly none of the areas we revisited had been rebuilt. Many of these pictures were featured at the Fetimage exhibition in Callela, Spain in 2012 (news video). They were also used in an ABC News piece.
